Happy Mother’s Day!
The cry rang out through the foyer at church this morning as families arrived for the service. I returned the greetings but, while I was walking in surrounded by my children and husband, today didn’t feel so “happy”.
Mother’s Day is one of those days when I remember my mom and am reminded, as I watch friends celebrating with their moms, that I will never have the privilege of hugging my mom on Mother’s Day again. And it makes me so very sad.
I miss my mom daily. I look at my children, though, and I see her in them. I interact with them and hear her words, feel her heart, and I know that she is here with us.
My mom would have loved what my family planned for me today. It was right up her alley – special and sneaky! Emily, last week, got the idea & snuck a phone number off my phone when I wasn’t looking. She made the required contact, discussed the plan with Tim and the 4 of them disappeared on Thursday afternoon for a little while. I will admit that I was a little suspicious. 🙂 Below is the results of that sneakiness. Mom would love these results.
